How it all began.

In 1995 Joanna was moved by four simple words, "Please don't forget me." from 10-year-old Melisa Hidić, whom she met in a Bosnian refugee camp.

Joanna founded Jericho Foundation in 2000 to help that little girl. Today, the Foundation works to educate and empower youth across Bosnia and Herzegovina. After 22 years as Executive Director, Joanna is retiring and lessening her role in Jericho’s leadership. Joanna has dedicated her life to helping the youth see there is hope and a future for them and generations to come.

As part of continuing to honor her legacy, the Jericho Board has created a NEW legacy scholarship in Joanna’s name as a lasting tribute to her 27 years of dedication. Please consider joining us in a one-time or annually-recurring gift to fund this meaningful named scholarship.

Today Jericho has 52 college graduates and 57 current students attending universities all over Bosnia & Herzegovina. By any measure, Joanna has helped Jericho deliver the promise to “give HOPE, one student at a time.”
