EDUCATE

EDUCATION & RESOURCES LEAD TO OPPORTUNITY. OPPORTUNITY LEADS TO HOPE. AND HOPE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

The statistics on education are conclusive. A college degree leads to higher earning power, greater access to food and electricity, healthcare and a stable home environment.

Because the country has not yet recovered from the brutal civil war, once thriving families have been unable to regain emotional and financial stability. For the next generation, higher education seems impossible as their families, by no fault of their own, have been trapped in a cycle of poverty and post-traumatic stress.

There are no scholarships or student loan options to help finance an education in BiH. We go beyond traditional aid by providing additional educational support through tutoring, room and board, english lessons and more. Learn more about our

Jericho Scholarships give our students hope for a brighter future. The forgotten youth of BiH will be the generation of change as the opportunity for higher education allows students to dream and aspire to help themselves and the country they live in.

*We will be accepting scholarship applications from June 1, 2019 to July 15, 2019.

BIH STUDENT LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Jericho Foundation provides workshops to all of our current students and alumni. These workshops and training sessions highlight areas such as resume writing, team building, leadership and professional development. Speakers are professionals in the business and educational sector from both the U.S. and BiH, sharing from their experience in our selected topics.

Students learn invaluable skills to further prepare them for the competitive BiH workforce. These learning opportunities have proven to raise confidence within our students and create the leaders of tomorrow.

INCREASING EMPLOYABILITY

The Jericho Foundation proudly offers U.S. summer cultural and professional exchange opportunities to our qualified students in their field of study. Still rebuilding from the country's shattering war, young people are looking for employment in a country plagued by 57% unemployment.

The U.S. exposure provides an opportunity to gain the necessary experience to become a competitive applicant in the BiH workforce. All of our students who have participated in a U.S. visitation program gained employment within six months following graduation. Employers expressed that the U.S. based experience made them the leading candidates. This opportunity expands horizons for future professionals of BiH, further contributing to a brighter future in Bosnia.

EDUCATION CREATES OPPORTUNITY

2017 BIH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

NEW CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE

During their U.S. visit, students stay with a local host family.  The host family plays a large role in offering the student a view of the U.S. by providing a home base during their U.S. stay and immersing them in a variety of activities and experiences.

Cultural immersion improves language skills, increases understanding of different cultural and community perspectives, and helps to develop analytical and problem-solving skills. Students develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and a greater understanding of the world around them. Additionally, prospective employers look favorably upon experience gained through the immersion.
